Here is the second honors assignment, due Monday, April 29th.

Here is the first honors assignment, due Tuesday March 5th. You will need to use latex to format your submission for this assignment. See our latex information page. You will also need the Handout on RSA and the Liebeck extract.

The honors add-on does supplementary assignments, whose content varies from term to term. It is is intended for students with strong background, e.g. James scholar and/or a strong GPA plus an A in the prerequisite courses.

To register for this 1sh add-on, you should do the following:

• If you are not a James scholar, get permission from Steve Herzog (smherzog@illinois.edu), Margaret Fleck (mfleck@illinois.edu), or Derek Hoiem (dhoiem@illinois.edu).
• Register for CS 173 (CS 196 section 73). Be careful not to register for the wrong section, which will be the honors add-on for a totally different class.
• If you are not in Engineering and want this course to fulfill the James Scholar requirements, you must also set up an "honors credit learning agreement" (HCLA) for CS 173. Speak to the folks in your home college for help with this paperwork. On the HCLA form where it asks what extra work you plan to do, say that you'll complete the assignments for CS 196, section 73.

The honors section does not have its own meeting time. Announcements are made via the regular 173 lectures and Piazza.
