- For Lab
Every student will need to have access to a recent Windows or Mac computer and to an IOLab device in order to do the Pre-lab activities (done before every lab in your apartment or dorm room), and to design and perform experiments during your weekly lab class.
There are 3 ways that you can get an IOLab device:- The bookstore sells them. This is the simplest option but probably the most expensive.
- Macmillan Learning sells them online for a lower price and with free shipping, though be aware that the free-shipping option takes 6-8 days. Their online store is linked here. They have i-clickers available at the same link so make sure you select the right item (called IOLab Version 2).
- Students from last semester who are finished with Physics 101/102 may be selling them. All IOLab devices are the same, so don't worry if they aren't called "Version 2"
It is fine to share your IOLab with a friend as long as you can arrange things so that you can work on the prelabs by yourself and also bring the device to your lab class every week.
