HW # 11

Problems 6(b) and 7(b) can be done with the material we covered today but we didn't finish the example on that material. They will both count as extra credit.

Thursday October 26, 2017
Updated HW # 7

I updated HW # 7 by removing a problem, as well as subparts of some problems, and adding some hints. This is to adjust for some of the material that was included before not being covered today. The updated pdf is online.

Tuesday October 11, 2017
Updated review notes

Pages 24-25 had two typos on the bandpass filter for SSB. The upper SSB filter h(t) needed a minus sign with the sine term, while the lower SSB filter h(t) needed a plus sign with the sine term. The pdf is now updated.

Tuesday October 10, 2017
Updated HW # 2 solutions

Problem 6 from HW # 2 had a typo in parts (d-e), the bandwidth part with W should have had W/2. The pdf is now updated.

Thursday October 5, 2017
Updated HW # 5

Problems 6 and 7 from HW # 5 will be postponed to HW # 6 because we did not cover the material. The pdf is now updated.

Thursday September 14, 2017
Typo in HW # 2

Problem 4(b) in HW # 2 had a typo, it referred to the modulation index as a, instead of k_a. The pdf is now updated.

Tuesday September 12, 2017
HW # 2 and solutions to HW # 1

HW # 2 is posted and is due on Tuesday, September 19.

Solutions to HW # 1 are posted.

Friday September 1, 2017
HW # 1

HW # 1 is posted and is due on Tuesday, September 12.

Table of important signals
Tables of Fourier transform

Lectures: TR, 9.30am-10.50am, 3013 Electrical & Computer Eng Bldg.

Lecture Attendance Policy: We invite relevant questions and comments during lectures. Address your questions and comments to the entire class; avoid disruptive behavior such as talking to neighbors, unless the instructor invites you to form discussion groups. Kindly turn off or mute cell phones, laptop computers, and other electronic devices during lectures.

Suggested (not required) textbook: Custom book for ECE459, ISBN: 978-1269807500 (available at IUB and TIS). It has only the chapters that we cover from the textbook: J. G. Proakis and M. Salehi, Fundamentals of Communication Systems, 2nd edition, Prentice-Hall, ISBN: 978-0133354850. You can use either one as a reference.
Others are at Grainger in reserve.
