Description: The ALS communication and mobility suite is being designed for and in conjunction with Dr. Bruce Flachsbart and a team of mechanical engineering students. The breathing apparatus will hopefully provide those suffering with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) with a portable respiratory system.

This project will create a portable breathing mechanism that will enable the user to move around, rather than being combined to a bed in a hospital. Also, this project will incorporate an eye-tracking mechanism that will allow the user to "speak", browse the internet, and control the motion of the device.

Team members: Donald Ziems, Alexander Kim, achirb2@illinois.edu
