Your grade will be based on the better of a curved grade and an absolute grade. A projected grade based on the first three programs and the first two midterms is now available in Compass. (I ignored extra credit in calculating the scales, but applied it afterwards to push people up as individuals, just as I will at the end of the course.) The work counted in the grade is only about 36% of the total for the semester. I scaled your known grades by scaling your program average to account for 25% in the final total, and by scaling your midterm average to account for the 75% in the final total.

The curve includes only A's and B's (without +/-), and is based on having 20 people in our class.

grade # students (cumulative) points
  A 90
  A- 6 (6) 85
  B+ 80
  B 75
  B- 7 (13) 70
  C+ 65
  C 60
  C- 55
  D+ 50
  D 45
  D- 40

Interpret the table as follows: the top 6 students will get A's, as will anyone getting 85+ of the 100 possible total points. The top 13 will get B's or better, as will anyone getting 70+ of the total, etc.
