ECE 110 Fall 2021 Labs

The yellow highlights below tell you what your current lab focus should be. There is no face-to-face lab meeting in Week 1 or Week 3. Don't go to lab. No one is there.

You need to order your kit in Week 1. You need to pick up your kit in Week 2. You do not need your kit until Week 3 (for the prelab). You have until September 17 to report any issues with your kit contents.

The TAs expect every student to come in ready to use the M2k. Unprepared students may lose points.

You may have noticed that the RC time constant (2.2 RC) does not give the period of oscillation for your circuit. Why not? Here is an optional exercise on Oscillator Analysis [.pdf] [.docx] that explores the charging and discharging cycles of the capacitor taking into account the upper and lower threshold values of the Schmitt Trigger.

Suggestion: The step from prelab to fully functional light-seeking car (In-Lab) may be straight-forward for many students. You may want to work towards having a functional car before lab and then jumping right into the team questions when you arrive.
