Project Submission Instructions Getting set up: 1) Go to your project page management site: http://web.engr.illinois.edu/. Web pages created here will appear at http://web.engr.illinois.edu/~netid. 2) Click on "file manager" and go to "web root". Create a folder called "cs498dwh". Within that, create a folder called "proj1" for your first project. 3) Place a blank or test page called "index.html" in "proj1" and make sure that you can access it at http://web.engr.illinois.edu/~netid/cs498dwh/proj1/, where "netid" is your netid. Submission Overview: Project results should be described in a file called index.html and posted to the appropriate projects directory with any supporting media files. Then, e-mail me your zipped code in "netid_project#.zip" and a link to your project page. When you send me your code, your project page should be complete with your final results and description. For each project you should: 1) Post your project web page to "web.engr.illinois.edu/~netid/cs498dwh/proj#/index.html" where "#" is replaced by "1", "2", "3", "4", or "5", depending on the project. To upload or create the page, go to accounts.cs.illinois.edu/projects. Try to keep each project page under 10MB so that people can see the page in a reasonable amount of time. You can use .jpg compression and web-scale resolutions to keep image size down and post large videos via YouTube for streaming. Be sure to check that the page is working. 2) Submit code via e-mail. Zip the code in a file called "netid_proj#.zip", where "netid" is your netid. Send this zip file to the instructor with a subject line such as "cs498: proj1". The e-mail provides your timestamp for the submission deadline. In the e-mail, also say how many points you expect to receive for the regular assignment (up to 100) and any extra points from bells and whistles. This will help to avoid misunderstandings. If I decide that your project is worth more or less than you thought, I'll let you know and may give you a chance to make corrections. What to include in the projects page: This does not need to be a comprehensive report. Just include your results and any parameters or special things that you tried. The page should be sufficiently clear so that the professor and other students can easily understand what your results mean and how you got them. You don't need to include a lengthy introduction or detailed description. Any problems: Please try this out early and let me know of any problems. Computing Resources: See http://ews.illinois.edu/ for a list of computing labs. You should have account access with Matlab and the image processing toolbox.
