  • Command lines tools like make may be had as a part of Xcode:
    1. Check to see if you can download Xcode searching for it in the App Store Application in the Applications folder of your mac
    2. If you need to upgrade your os, then use the App Store to update mac os x (free)
    3. Download Xcode (free) using step 1
    4. Run Xcode to let it or your system finish any initializations
    5. Install Command Line Tools for Xcode
      • in Xcode, go to 'Xcode' -> 'Open Developer Tool' -> 'More Developer Tools...'
      • This may require you to log in with a developer account
