Section Description
Prerequisites: CEE 462 and CEE 470. Geometric and material nonlinearities in steel frames; frame element formulation including geometric stiffness and concentrated plasticity; effects of imperfections on frame behavior and modeling approaches for accurate nonlinear assessment; nonlinear solution strategies for frame analysis; elastic and inelastic frame stability; assessment and design of frame structures using nonlinear analysis.
