Design methods; time domain modeling; trajectories and phase plane analysis; similarity transforms; controllability and observability; pole placement and observers; linear quadratic optimal control; Lyapunov stability and describing functions; simulation. Course Information: 3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: GE 320 and MATH 415.

Course Description
State-space models for linear dynamic systems, differential equations, and transfer functions; review of Laplace transforms. System analysis methods to determine stability, controllability, and observability. Pole-placement and observer design methods. Review of linear algebra techniques, and linearization of non-linear systems.
