Section Description

Systems biology emerged as a discipline to study biology from a global perspective, through interactions of components that give rise to larger scale properties. Synthetic biology has harnessed design principles observed in naturally occurring systems in order to generate novel cellular behavior. Integration of systems and synthetic biology has provided new platforms to understand, analyze and develop new solutions for some of the most pressing biomedical challenges. Prerequisites: prior graduate level coursework in biology and computational modeling; background in differential equations and proficiency in one of the following: Matlab, Mathematica, Python, or C/C++
